e. Specific Packing Instruction for Painted Parts
As painted parts we define parts with any type of decoration coating.
To prevent surface damages painted parts may not contact each other or any other hard objects. For that the most significant requirement for the packaging of painted parts is to ensure the surface protection.
Further significant requirements concerning the packaging of painted parts are:
- Parts may only be packed in “dry to handle” state
- Parts and internal packages need to be protected against moisture (if necessary, parts need to be covered)
For smaller to midsize painted parts it is recommended to transport by specially designed foams form.
Bigger parts should be packed into racks or foam pallets with adequate dividers. The usage of corrugated cardboard for separation is recommended. Due to the risk of damages on the painted surface, the usage of plastic dividers is not recommended. The usage of plastic separators is only possible in agreement with Ujet.
The way of packing, storing and transporting painted parts should avoid any rust, abrasions, nicks, scratches, dents of the painted surface. Surface protection should be provided to any part which requires additional protection and is clearly stated in Purchase Order by using an approved protective material.
